MORE ABOUT THIS BIKE:Bike in working condition and paperwork/title in order. It was serviced early 2000’s and we have all photos of the parts changed before start, we can provide by email to the future owner. This bike belonged to an Aristocracy family of Barcelona since registration and they hold until was sold to another collector of rare bikes. Currently is in hibernation mode but we will deliver the bike in working condition. Together the bike we provide the title/paperwork, bill of sale and spare parts changed on the service.
MAINTENANCE: Bike working correctly but in hibernation mode. 100 Km since last service.

– Rear seat
The WLC Model, although very similar to the US Army WLA, differs in many details from its American counterpart. Front and rear wheels are interchangable, front brake drum is the ‘Big Twin’ style, lighting equipment is quite different, throttle is on the left handlebar with ignition timing on the right, oil and gas lines are rubber, an auxiliary clutch hand lever is provided on the handlebars, later 43WLC have green plastic handlebar grips, a ride-control is provided on the front fork with an extra stand on the front wheel, the rear stand has additional ‘Sand Pads’, etc….
WLCs were not equipped with a Submachinegun bracket and Ammo box at the factory and were mainly used by the Canadian (and Commonwealth) Armies, except for some few exceptions produced by civilians.
WLCs were made from late 1941 through 1944 and were known as the Model 42WLC and Model 43WLC. The 43WLC was made in a ‘Domestic’ model for use in Canada and an ‘Export’ version for use overseas. Contrary to the WLA, the WLC Models had two different style VIN Numbers, either 42WLCXXXX or 43WLCXXXX.
Below is a chart showing which VIN numbers were used in which types and what timeframe they were produced. The chart also shows the Canadian National Defense Forces Registration Numbers which were assigned to each bike. More information about these numbers is found below. The chart was compiled from information in Bruce Palmer’s books, and a few numbers falling outside of this list have been observed. There may be a few exceptions to the 42/43WLC VIN Numbers, but to date there are no records to verify these….

This bike was one of the few civilian models produced in 1943 that were manufactured to bribe the high military officials who made the orders to the HD factory or special commitments. Our bike is the VIN 43WLC9437 with real registration and plate in 5th July 1943 in Barcelona (Spain). However, the “VIN Production table” provided by Bruce Palmer’s books indicates that the 43WLC only was produced on the next range: 43WLC1000-43WLC9134.
A few batch of units were produced for civilians and top members, but never were detailed how many of these units were produced. Which makes us think that this VIN numbering that is different from those shown in the production tables for the army determine that is one of the few units produced for civilians.
